I have recently heard about Dr. Alex Benzer, who is a Harvard and Cambridge educated certified hypnotherapist, who developed a theory that "smart people" (his definition: the top 5% of the population) have a hard time dating and finding people who they enjoy the company of. This guy was so bold as to even write a few books about his theory; these include The Tao of Dating: The Smart Woman's Guide to Embracing Your Inner Goddess & Finding the Fulfillment You Deserve and The Tao of Dating: The Thinking Man's Enlightened Guide to Success with Women. In my opinion, such bold statements are quite uncalled for, and even though it might be true that some "smart people" do not have very much success with the opposite gender, it is not because they do not understand other people. Intellectuals are put down as "nerds" or "geeks" just because they have different interests than the rest of us, but what we ourselves do not notice is that we all have different interests; some people like sports, others like the theater, while others just like to draw, or play music. We are all different, but our differences make us who we are. People would not be as advanced were it not for all of these differences, and I might even be so bold as to say that if none of us ever cared about knowledge, we would have been extinct a long time ago. So to all of you who are reading this; LAY OFF THE SMART KID!
